I don’t use a lot
of flowers on my lay outs but do love them a lot though. I thought I would try
at making my own for a change. I made some paper flowers this time but some of
the techniques also work very well with fabric and /or ribbon.
Flower 1.
First a super
simple one.
Cut 2 strips of
paper and fold them in the length in half. Roll the first one up. Attach the
end with a little bit of glue and adhere the second piece of paper to the
rolled up paper. Keep rolling and attach the end with another little bit of
glue. Stick a button or similar in the middle for the heart of the flower.
Flower 2.
Cut a strip of paper, scrunch it up. Cut a circle of another piece of paper and glue in a spiral on top of it. Start in the middle of the, in this case yellow, circle and adhere the end of the strip of paper. Twist and lay the strip of paper in a circle. Cut of the remaining paper. You can also make this one with a strip of paper that is not scrunched up. Make sure to twist it extra thoroughly when making your flower then. You can also do this one very nicely with ribbon or fabric.
Flower 3.
Flower 4.
Cut 2 wider strips of paper. Fold them both in harmonicas. Adhere the ends together and flatten the flower. Stick a gem, button etc in the middle for the hart (and to keep it flat).
Flower 5.
Cut, scrunch and
sand a strip of paper. Roll it up with the top side wider out and the bottom
tight. Tweak it while you are rolling it to get the petals facing outwards. Use
some glue to keep the bottom of the flower together (or wrap something around
it.
Here is the lay
out I created with the flowers.
THANKS Manon on a fabulous Tutorial and GORGEOUS layout too !!!
