THE WORD: Live
THE COLOUR: Blue
THE TECHNIQUE: Doodling
This month is brought to you by Jodie Armitage.... here is her page....
Doodling is a great way to finish a page. It can get quite addictive, once you've developed a style you like, you may find yourself using it on every layout!
Don't be scared off by it, it's really not hard to do and you don't have to be a great drawer to be a great doodler. Everyone at some stage has doodled on some scrap paper while chatting on the phone.
All you need is a good pen/marker. I use unibal signo's mainly in black but I also use white from time to time.
If you're a first time doodler, start off by just doodling a basic border around the edge of your page, or photo. Use a grey lead to start with if you're not confident to doodle straight on your page. Don't worry about lines being straight. Doodling is a freestyle technique and looks great when it's a little wonky...
You could try adding a few swirls and flourishes. Draw your first swirl and then go over it again. Colour in the spaces to thicken it up or leave them to add some dimension.
There are no mistakes when it comes to doodling, going out the lines just enhances it!
Try adding some white or another colour
Just a few examples from layouts I've created... try using water colour pencils over your doodling, doodling over or around patterned papers, stickers or alphabets.
There are also some great doodling templates on the market (I've used on in the '2 new teeth' example, you could also use masks, or die-cut papers, chipboard ect as templates.
The most important thing to remember when doodling is to HAVE FUN!!!
MORE UPDATES OF LAST LAYOUTS FOR OCTOBER, WINNERS AND MORE!
Love it!!!!
