MARIA HOLT
I'm a teacher living in Tropical Far North Queensland with my husband Ben and our playful Kelpie X Red Cattle Dog puppy, Cruiser.
How long have you been scrapping for? I have been scrapping, in some way or another, my entire life. When I was about 2 or 3 years old my Aunty (who lived an hour away) would send me a letter in the mail each week. She would also often send magazine clippings, stickers and postcards and my Mum & I would collate all this in a big scrapbook. As a teenager, I went through more than 12 A5 notebooks (you know, the pretty journals from the newsagency?) where I would have my friends at school write me letters and decorate their pages with stickers and clippings from Dolly & Girlfriend Magazines. I started a bit of a trend and my whole group of friends went through several books each... all of them filled with letters from all the kids in our grade talking about the sort of stuff that fifteen year olds would talk about some ten years ago. I've been scrapbooking in the more conventional way since my 21st birthday four years ago.
Where can we find you? Do you chat on Scrapbooking forums? Which ones? What is your forum name/s? I have been on Scrap Therapy forums for about 3 or 4 years but don't have as much time for forums as I would like. My forum name is Corolla.
Do you have a blog? What is it? http://mariascribblesanddribbles.blogspot.com/
What are your favourite scrapbooking products at the moment? I'm loving My Minds Eye and October Afternoon papers at the moment. I also really love using recycled items such as vintage doilies, lace, zippers and bits & pieces I find on my op shopping adventures.
What were the last products you bought? and where? I bought a huge pizza box full of papers from Lee-Anne & Danny over at Scrap Therapy. Their shop is located in Babinda which is less than an hour south of Cairns and they are very friendly and helpful. I've been shopping with them for several years.
What layout/project are you working on RIGHT now? I've just started teaching for a new school year so have been a bit too busy to scrap however my current project would involve getting my scraproom back to its neat and tidy state. It has been over-run with childrens books, laminating pouches and curriculum documents the last few weeks and I couldn't scrap at the moment even if I had the time! When I next have the opportunity to sit down and scrap, I might continue working on the album I've started with photos of my cousins' children.
Do you have scrapping goals? What are they? My scrapping goal for 2011 is to Think Before I Scrap a bit more.
