TECHNIQUE: Create A Scene

 

This month we have a Guest Designer - the lovely Gina Rodgers, who has come up with the most AMAZING Tute and page !!! I am excited to be sharing with you!!!

So I know everyone will be freaking out about "Creating a Scene" but don't be!!! It can be as simple or as detailed as you would like, as long as there is some kind of "layering, texture & decorative background"  -

Here are most of the things I've used to create the layout including:

gesso, oil pastels, glimmer mist, old dress patterns and book paper, pattern paper scraps, letter stencil etc

after choosing the photo position, I've built up some layers using dress pattern and book paper strips

the next step was to apply some gesso with a palette knife and also with credit card edge around the photo.. 

I also painted a light wash of watered down gesso over most of the dress pattern.

A few highlights of blue and green oil pastels on the gesso, smudged around with my finger.. I've also done 

some random hand writing in white gel pen

then added in paper scraps, punched paper off-cuts, stickers, rubons, embellishments, stitching, twine etc

and finally the title (with a few drops of glimmer) letter stickers and hand journaling

I thought it was a great opportunity to finish off a canvas I started with the help of my Mum {who has got right into making and selling them!! } so I did a lot of gessoing, painting, bubblewrapping, stamping, chopping and all sorts.... anyway - loved how it turned out!

SOOO now it's YOUR turn to give the Challenge a go! Remember it's YOUR interpretation, as long as you include ALL criteria!!! HAVE FUN!!!
